You have to finish the crimp and there's no going back.

Setting the ratchet release insures consistent crimping, but these are bulky and awkward.

Crimping in tight spaces sucks, and screwing up the crimping job means you have to stay there for another 3-4 minutes.

The only bummer is it says on the package that it is not made to work with watertight shrink terminals.

I can see no reason why this would not work for them any worse than any crimper.

They have holes that fit pins on the stock dies - they're tension set together and you'd have to pry the sheet metal jaws apart to even take the stock dies out.
