As a violinist i found the little shelf at the bottom to be a great place to put my bow without it getting in the way of the pageturning and i could even fit my piccolo on there too although that was pushing it

Ive tried all sorts of music stands in the past and all have been useless unstable too difficult to adjust easily knocked over
