There was only one issuethe included noobs on the sd card would not provide any video out to my monitor through an hdmi to dvid adapter cable

The solution was to write raspberian to the sd card

Bought a 32gb microsd card to have the ability to install more programs than the one it came with

The 16gb it came with had to be reformatted due to it being corrupted
