You need to read the instructions part where it says that you may have to flip the thing over because manufacturing changes the instructions are exactly backwards in which end goes up for my 96 ford explorer

But once i figured that what they meant was to turn it the other way if it didnt just snap on which it didnt and i almost made the mistake of pressing it on mechanically i got em both on in a matter of minutes and yes it held the hood up
