We were hoping this would let us sleep in longer. Our cat wakes us up at dawn with a loud demand for food. This didn't eliminate that behavior, but it helped, and we can ignore her without feeling guilty since we know she's had breakfast. I thought we would only use this for the early AM feeding and set it for six days, but it's nice to know she's being fed at the same time every day regardless of what we're doing, and so I've set it up to feed 3x/day and we now use this every day.I found it easy to set up and it has worked reliably. The trap door is a little weird - once you press start now, the device will cycle back to show bowl 6. At the first feeding, it will cycle forward to bowl 1, but for us, if we click the trap door into place where it is supposed to go (I think?), the trap door will stay shut and the cat can't access it. It has to be very loosely covering the bowl to open with the motor turning. Our cat doesn't mess with the door even if it's not clicked in place, but if your cat is more intense about it, they could easily open it. As a bonus, we can now portion out her food when we are away for a couple of days. She's not overweight (despite her best efforts) but I now also have a better handle on how much she is fed per day. Cats are experts at convincing the other owner that they're starving and have missed a meal, even if the other person fed them 10 minutes ago. I'd imagine this would be great for cats on a diet.Would recommend and would buy again, especially at this price.  Read Less
