It didnt even require specific training just ring the bells consistently as you go inout of the door and the dog eventually figures out it means the door is opening

Several years ago i had four cats and three of them learned to bang against the front screen when they wanted to come in

With either one you have to be listening and paying attention for it to work

If distracted and you dont see the dog ring the bells or hear them because you are in another room with the door shut they dont work
