I coated the bare spots of particle board in the with some lacquer paint. This helps prevent moisture from entering the particle board and in time swelling and slowly flaking apart.

It's sturdy and assembly is not bad. I like that it declines the clutter. The handles are surprisingly heavy brushed silver that look nice and make things look a lot neater with everything put away.

The hinges are not well made, not sturdy, and are not easy to adjust. Any hopes of having the doors look perfectly aligned - and not slamming into each other when the unit closes - is a pipe dream. There is no way to make the two doors to get close.
