Works good for my 6 lb maltese and high quality
My dog feels safe with the firm bottom and if he chooses to lay down the mesh gives plenty of fresh air
Its a nice backpack i liked that it was compact but my puppy was not happy with the top sort of collapsing on top of her head
Other than that i think this is a really nice and quality bag

He is not a “jumper” so i secure him inside and then leave half of the top unzipped so he can poke his head out

My only complaint is that there is no padding on the back which makes the bag quite uncomfortable after a while
