As for its viability as a selfdefense tool i am confident the reenforced aluminum tip will do its job if it ever came down to it

The ink quality is ok though can be upgraded aftermarket with better quality refills

The shell is very solid on this but ive had issues with the pen cartridge that came with it refusing to write from time to time

My only complaint is the two small screws that hold on the clip
