My husband loves beef jerky and all things spicy, so I thought I could get him this Jalapeno flavored gourmet beef jerky.The name is Jalpeno Hottie, which does describe the jerky well.You get a 3-ounce bag, which sounds small, but there is plenty of jerky in the package to last a good while.I also like that this jerky has less salt than many name brands (about 1/3 less.)This is naturally made and has no preservatives either. There are no nitrates in it and no MSG.I was even brave and tried this 'hot' jerky. There is a little sweet flavor mixed with the kick of the pepper. It does have a great flavor.You can see the pepper in the jerky, too. It was definitely hot, but although I don't usually eat spicy food, I could eat a small piece and enjoy the mix of flavors.Unlike some other jerkys, this is not hard or stiff. You can break off little pieces quite easily. The jerky is softer and easy to chew, which I also like.You can taste the flavor because they marinate the meat. It is just moist and delicious, and comes in other flavors, too, in case you don't want the Jalapeno.
