There is a safety on the bottom of the flashlight that you have to switch on in order to activate the stun gun

This means that no matter how many time to tap the red stun button it wont activate unless you intentionally switch on the stun feature at the bottom

Zapper sound and flashes are startling and i assume would scare off a dog i use it for walking my dog so i keep it near the door where it is also handy should someone try to push their way in when i answer the door

The flashlight does have to be turned off for the stun to work
