Quality
The light is very bright and build quality is great.
I haven’t played around with the colours yet but i’m sure i will!
They are not and never have been cheap, but the quality is undeniably good.

Competitiveness
As for all the philips hue products, they are expensive but worth it for the price.
When no one orderds any then will come down in price like allways shame.
Had no problems syncing it with my smartthings hub via the philips hub, so i can use the smartthings motion sensors too.

For google home you can simply turn the light on, open the google home app and it will find the device.

You only need the hue bluetooth app if you want to use scenes (rotate colours in a preset pattern) as the google home app can so the rest.
