Pros & Cons

Pros

K when dimmed looks great.

Just like incandescent bulbs, they produce warmer light when dimmed. If your dimmer allows it, adjust it for highest and lowest brightness. These are the only ones that are masterclass and have the warm glow effect.

Full brightness is above what i was getting on 65w incandescents. Much brighter at full brightness, but also much brighter dimmed.

That's not ideal, but for me it's not a deal-breaker. Philips has pretty good customer service so it may be worth it.

The color and quality of these bulbs is pretty exceptional. These are so much nicer than any chinese brand bulb i’ve purchased. Of course phillips is a well known brand.

Cons

The new one even fails to turn on for its signature feature - warm glow effect. The color is harsh. If you do not register at that url, then the warranty is 5 years.

I was definitely wary of getting these bulbs because a few of the reviews say the new model thats sold here the model number ends in a b which is what i received have problems with strange behavior when brightening or dimming or when turning on or off

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I cant speak to their longevity as i just installed them but if they start failing ill update this review

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

However the bulbs do take a second to turn on to whatever brightness you have selected and also take a second to fade out when turning off

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Personally this isnt an issue because im used to the effect but the onoff behavior is something other reviewers have mentioned and is something you should consider

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

If you experience weirdness dimming these bulbs something that might help is using an ledminded dimmer

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I can not comment on longevity i have only had them a few months

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Ive been wanting to replace my incandescent bulbs with leds for over 10years and everytime i end up going back because they dont feel right

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Such a simple and in retrospect seemingly obvious change the color of the light gets warmer when it gets dimmer
