Pros & Cons

Pros

Peugeot pepper grinders are some of the best around. Still not up to the quality of the kirkland grinder, but definitely usable. Solid steel burr grinder.

Mill comes with 4 grams of vietnam sourced pepper in the mill. Can now be adjusted to grind from coarse to very fine. Cole & mason is a fine unit, too.

The only downside, if i'm being nit picky, is that loosening the top screw (to make course grinds) makes the top cap jostle, thus giving the overall unit a somewhat clumsy experience.

Cons

The screw at the top loosens mid grind resulting in a non-uniform grind. If you want to be able to turn the top to actually grind pepper, you have to loosen the knob enough that your grind size is larger than desired. Not true peugeot quality. Looks l...  Read More

I would go to look until peugeot realizes their problem and fixes it. Seems we were mailed a defective pepper mill that likely had already been returned for the same issue given that there were peppercorns in it. The mill is great except for one criti...  Read More

Quality

I wasnt really sure how much of a difference a good quality pepper grinder would make but it does

High quality looks good works well and came in nice box

The issue is entirely with the mechanism

The base of the uselect paris seems to be made of inferior quality wood and therefore its prone to cracking

Price

Cost was way lower than at the stores we checked

Packaging/appearance

The grinder is presumably fine however it arrived only wrapped in bubble wrap no box or original packaging

Need a magnifying glass for instruction booklet

Competitiveness

I would definitely recommend this grinder as a highquality option that wont break the bank

Its 7inch size makes it perfect for the kitchen counter yet it holds enough pepper that i dont have to keep refilling it every few days

The only thing im not too happy with is that the top seems to come loose while grinding and im constantly having to tighten it more or less with every use

In any case i was quite happy with it until i used a metal peugot pepper mill at a friends house with 4 levels of grind adjustability and i have to say that it was much better than this one although obviously would have been a great deal more expensive
