It's very cushioned. But my english lop just adores this soft sided carrier lol it's his binky!

Fits 1 cat comfortably. Even our largest cat fits comfortably in the carrier. Plenty of headroom and is able to turn around and get comfy.

Cons

Also, it is comically small and out 18 pound cat did not fit at all. What a bummer, wish i knew before i made the purchase. It is so disappointing because we loved this carrier so much.
