I had to perform a drivers side control arm rear bushing replacement this week and it required the transmission pan to be dropped to get out the front control arm bolt

At temperature i removed the outer drain plug and i added about a half a quart more until the drain fill started gurgling fluid out the drain hole and not a constant stream

I immediately put back in the drain plug and tightened it

I did not wait for it to quit draining as per some good advice on the tdi forums as the fluid level is actually too low if you do
