In addition on the passenger side of that mirror there is a plastic piece coming from the roof onto the window i think it is a receiver for either the satellite or the gps

Installing on the left side of the rearview mirror is not possible as the mirror is always adjusted towards the driver leaving insufficient room for the camera with its power cables connector pointing straight upwards
