The old capacitor was not in need of replacement but the terminals were heavily corroded

Last week the fan on the outdoor unit stopped spinning although the contactor was pulled in a sign that it is receiving power and a signal from the thermostat to cool and the fan for the indoor unit was blowing

I was able to get the fan to spin by using a stick but it was running slow and eventually stopped

Compressor would turn on but fan would not

The symptoms the compressor outside unit just hums the fan doesnt turn and there is no cold coming from the inside registers

I had to drill a hole so the strap that is supposed to keep it in place would keep it in place
