While the texture probably wont be mentioned by many guests a cheap plastic or thin fabric might be casually noticed

While the material blocks the rain it doesn’t block all of the sun nor does it block rising smoke from our bbq grill below it

Great for grab and go at beach or just anywhere there is no shade although you will need to be able to tie it off to something
