I had deliberately hesitated in replacing the old halogen tube as it consumes a lot of electricity tends to come on at night with the slightest gust of wind let alone a passing squirrel and of course gets very hot so that the glass envelope and ceramic end sections often shatter

The package says it will last for 15 years which should outlive a few squirrels and hopefully i won’t have to get the ladder out to go up there for many years to come

Bulb wouldn’t fit under the cover for the halogen one but not an issue as the leds don’t get as hot

Not quite the eye searing intensity of the removed 1000w lamp but near enough and it didnt make my electricity meter look like a whirling dervish on heat

Not quite as bright as a 100w halaogen claims equivalence to 75w but that is what i expected and the energy consumption is very low
