Pros & Cons
Pros
The front compartment has a laptop sleeve and some small pockets for electronics and things you might want to easily grab for in-flight use. The laptop is protected from whatever you want to stuff in the big compartment.
I hate checking luggage, but airlines have gotten really tough about limiting the size of carry-on bags. I love that the straps can be stowed away so they don't snag on things. The ability to close up the backpack area and use the shoulder strap is gr... Read More
It's comfortable and distributes the weight better than any other backpack. The flap hiding the shoulder harness is very easy to roll up and velcro in place. The back is big, but not too big for me (i am 6'1) the waist strap is seemless.
Osprey is one of the most respected backpacking companies. Perfect for the weekend traveler or the light packer.
The main compartment has a couple compression straps which allow you to cram clothes in without stressing the zippers. The ability to open it up like a suitcase makes living out of it exponentially easier. Could use bigger pouches that aren't limited ... Read More
Cons
The straps are too thin and dig into your shoulders. The water bottle pockets are completely worthless when the pack is loaded. Spend a little more and get something more durable and better thought-out.
Highlights
Quality
Brought 2 very happy with the quality and size
Its not the most rugged pack but its build quality is so good it will probably last a long time
No instructions included with the bag and it took me a few minutes to figure out how you are supposed to roll up the backpack straps cover
My biggest complaint with the bag is the lack of water bottle holders

Competitiveness
A 40l pack is so much more maneuverable than larger sizes so if you can fit everything you need in here go for it
Fits easily in the overhead cabin and looks cool as well planning to take this alone on a 2week trip to europe
Most of the time the farpoint is too big to be used as a daypack one must also have a minimalist daypack or shoulder bag
