If it cant find an hdmi source within about 5 seconds ittle try the composite port and then the vga port

I have it hooked up to my surround sound unit no this doesnt have optical out i use an hdmi splitter to split the signal one goes to my projector and the other to the reciever and it really feels like a movie theater when all the lights are out
