The thing is most people do not realize how hard or thick the clear coat on their headlights actually is and they don’t use a coarse enough sandpaper to strip the clearcoat off

If you’re simply trying to clean up your headlights you only need to start with 1500 grit

But if you want to strip it down to plastic especially on vehicles with hard paint such as gm or mercedes etc

It is a lot of work to do it correctly and i would imagine some people do not have the patience or understanding of what it looks like without clearcoat

You must get it down to the plastic as this will only bond to plastic

Any other substance still left in between will not allow the coating to fully bond and you will get yellow again
