Pros & Cons

Pros

The hd2's work great and their audio really is hd sounding. Sound is crystal clear.

It takes some getting used to as to where to put your thumb when using it. Their security is top of the line.

It is definitely not a showstopper for me so other than that the rest of the features are nice. I wish it had more ringtone options. It has a docked/undocked profile for the brightness and screen timeout.

Cons

Speakerphone mode is hampered by the phone not being able to stand on its own. It has a long delay when answering and the sound is barely audible even at max volume. Sound quality is poor, especially on speaker mode.

The display is so dim that it is barely readable in a dark room. We can't navigate the menu as it doesn't recognize the key presses. The phone will not ring until it goes to messaging. It is difficult to set the phone off cradle/on cradle.

Bottom their hd2 phone stinks, their customer service stinks. Stick with ooma voip services (fantastic support and very inexpensive) and their lynx remote but leave this phone out of your shopping cart.

It looks pretty, but is ergonomically deficient. I wish they would redesign this thing and make it slightly more durable.

Ooma needs to fire it's chinese supplier. Their monthly charge keeps going up for no reason. Ooma should go back to the drawing board.

Quality

Sound quality is good the only disappointment is retrieving messages you have to duplicate hitting one to get messages makes no sense to me

I am not sure why people have reported so many issues with the ooma handset because i have found it to be acceptable on all levels

I had a handset that came bundled with the ooma but at some point it would not recharge even with new nimh batteries

By the way the ooma service is fantastic and we pay just a few dollars in taxes and fees a month a big reduction of what we would pay for verizon or spectrum voip service
