After spending the last 50 years working and recreating in the woods my mantra is, “never scrimp on footwear”. I've usually gone with Lowa, Vasque, and Merrell. Though these are all good quality boots and shoes, I've always had to do little tweaking by adding insoles of one level or another. Not long ago I tried on a pair of Oboz for the first time and became an instant convert. For me, the fit was perfect with excellent arch support and no break-in period. Within a month I had four pair; Sawtooth Low, Sawtooth Mid, Tamarack, and Livingston. I've never been a fan of slip-on shoes outside the house, but after retiring I’ve come to appreciate the convenience at times and the Livingston is a unique shoes. It combines the sole and foot bed of a hiking shoes with the upper of a casual shoe; great. I’m now a complete Oboz convert and all other brands have been retired.  Read Less
