The test is very simple - click once on the reset button, will bring the product into a working state, which enable the flow of electricity, but i now had to make sure in case of electric shock it will protect me - one click on the test button simulate such a shock, which cuts off immediately the power flow from the wall outlet to the electric device, turning off the indicator light on the receptacle.
