I would consider this to be more of an outdoor area rug as it's a very tight and flat weave. It's not a soft, fluffy or even padded rug but it looks lovely and feels extremely durable. I may move this out to our patio as our old patio rug has gone through a lot and could use replacing, soonish, but for now I have this under our apartment sized dining room table. Chairs slide on the rug just fine for pulling in and out and it has been relatively easy to spot clean the few oopsies from our toddler. Things like sauce will kind of get in between the weave and can't just be wiped off but a toothbrush and some water will do the trick. If you plan on using this indoors on hardwood floors, without something like a table weighing it down, you will want to get some sort of non-slip padding for it as it is extremely slippery. Rolled out smooth very quickly - no weird lumps or bumps - very flat.  Read Less
