Highlights
Quality
Same good quality as the first one i bought in the 70s and still use
From the research i did this was a great stone and with the double sides it means only one instead of two are needed
Another crisp edged flat surfaced example of norton quality
I get a very nice toothy edge without the bevels looking like theyve been put on a low grit bench grinder
Shipping
Metal cutting was fast on the coarse side and still pretty quick on the fine
Because i did not find the chipped part in the box it leads me to believe this is a qc issue and it did not happen during shipping
Packaging/appearance
So my very first impressions of this stone and its packaging are very impressive
Basically its ready to roll right out of the box
Competitiveness
I have had several whetstones over the years but i find this to be my favorite hands down
Very easy to use and priced reasonable
Unlike a gray crystolon stone i bought later when you put oil on the india stone it takes a looong time to absorb it
