    There is a short story on the bottom of the box telling norton's long history of making stones, and abrasives in america; the nomenclature on the side of the stone says made in mexico.

    It comes in a cardboard box that has oil staining on the inside, so there is evidence of pre-oiling.

    Minus 1 star because mine had a small chip on the edge upon arrival.

    Because i did not find the chipped part in the box, it leads me to believe this is a qc issue, and it did not happen during shipping.
