Eventually all this becomes quite unbelievable and the narrative pull becomes a drag. I just wish it wasn’t broken up with insipid chunks of bad philosophy, but sadly, the story itself is actually the delivery vehicle for the chunks.

It is really tricky to publish your own mini essays and get people to read them. Big chunks of the book are in cursive letters. Would never have finished reading the book in -this- eyestrain font.

Fatima represents limitations imposed on the freethinking man of great genius. The nameless females are never his intellectual equal.

    As someone who grew up nearsighted i have to assume the author did as well because they know things about what its like to not really be able to see but not necessarily know that you cant see like everyone else
