The battery takes two to four hours to charge fully it varies a lot and the radio will then play without external power for five hours at half maximum volume before it cuts out with low power

You will want to use the presets as there is no quick way of tuning to a new station if you dont

The instructions dont say why there are two buttons but you have to turn off the tiny switch on the back if the radio is not plugged in and you dont want to take power from your batteries

If there is no external power and the radio is left on standby with the display of time and date on the top backlit the batery runs flat in 16 hours

The makers could have positioned the main switch where you can see it or put in some electronics that turn off the radio completely if the sound is turned off when there is no power supply plugged in

Also when you turn it off you have to hold it down for quite a time otherwise it just switches to fmvolume changes when you turn it on again
