Pros & Cons

Pros

Netgear is one of my go-to products when it comes to networking. The switch seamlessly integrates into my system without taking up extra room. They are fast and seem durable and reliable.

The value for money offered by the netgear gs308 is simply exceptional. Mounting options for wall or shelf are easy to implement. The switch i was using in my living room is a pos asus.

Netgear 8-port gigabit ethernet unmanaged switch (gs308) is wonderful. The 16 port switch sits next to my cable modem. It plugs into a local 8 port switch for tv components.

Cons

Only replaced for better functionality, should have stayed with tp-link. You can not connect this switch to a router and in turn expect that the then connected devices will have internet access. It’s a sad day when wireless outperforms wired.

That multiplies the cost of the switch many, many times. Just another company like hp doing their best to squeeze every last dime from their loyal customers.

I naively thought that netgear will just replace it, the warranty is 5 years, so what's the problem, right? Your product is covered under hardware warranty till 2025-01-29. They wouldn't tell me if it was new or refurbished.
