Pros

The prism is not very big so there are limitations, but each time i use it i discover a new way to see. It takes some experimenting and practice to learn to use, but it will give anybody who can trace an image plenty of interesting drawing opportuniti...  Read More

It is very helpful. Well made, sturdy, and totally wonderful. For its purpose and price point - its a good value and a tidy little unit.

The neolucida is a prism on a snake-like bendable cord. Nifty tool. Perfect drawing aid, because of its simplicity.

It takes a bit of finagling on the first set-up, but the instructions are very good. Once i got the hang of it, it really shines. It works amazingly well.

Cons

The instructional video through the site is on an expired youtube account. Don't waste your money, you will be discouraged. Cool attempt to bring back this device in an affordable way, but ultimately impractical.

The neolucida is not an inexpensive drawing tool, it is an expensive toy. The projected image produced is tiny, the largest image i could make was less than 8. Can only use for small drawings.

Main problem is with the flexible armature that supports the optics. It cannot setup reporducibly because it is flexible and springy. The image is too small. The prism is way too small, making the field of view rather minuscule.
