I also have to say the company really stands behind their product i got a couple of emails after i purchased these asking me if my order was to my standards and if i was pleased with the product offering me a refund if not 100 satisfied as they stand by their product

I suppose some of the smell can seep through the bag but i dont notice it while its inside of the litter genie bucket only when i pull it out and set it aside for when im ready to take it to the trash

Of course the caveat here is to change the bags when they are about 12 full as nothing ever made will stand the test of time against cat urine no matter how well it clumps
