I don't have a pool, but was introduced to this product by a pool professional years ago.I was involved in pet rescue and fostering animals when I discovered this. Because it is made with pure enzymes and designed for use in a pool, it's very safe to use. No odor, safe to ingest, does not bleach or strip fabric, and best of all, it breaks down organic stains and things into their molecular components. This is also highly concentrated, so it is effected diluted at a 10 water to one product ratio! You can use it to soak laundry before washing. It breaks down stains like grass or blood. Great for cleaning upholstery, glass, etc. You can spray and wipe the walls with this to remove cigarette and smoke residue, or allergens. It will break down things like slobber from a big dog on a window or hairball residue quickly. Will truly eliminate odor by breaking down the proteins that cause odor...sometimes soaking over time is required, but it dries clean and nothing grows in it (whereas soaking in water can grow mildew or mold). It has been a real life-saver for cleaning ever since. They sell enzyme cleaners at pet stores...but those are not concentrated like this, and have fragrances and other additives. In its full concentration (in the bottle) it kind of, maybe, smells like apple cider. However, each bottle treats something like 23,0000 gallons...so putting it in a spray bottle and adding water is the way to go. If you are not running a shelter or day care, one bottle can last years. If a child or pet gets into this....nothing much will happen. Enzymes can mess up a digestive system (humans have specific enzymes in our bodies already), but it won't kill anyone, and there is no allergic response to this, although it destroys many allergens.I suspect Spa Perfect is the same way, but have never examined it to see if the formula is different. Over the years, many have thanked me for this recommendation. Unlike the guy who told me about it, I'm not trying to sell it to you for $40 a bottle (his private mark up, I later discovered. But it was worth it, even then! I now am a host for DogVacay and am thrilled to be able to get it here rather than the drive to a Pool specialty store. And yes, people with pools have told me it works well there, too! Read Less
