It would be ideal if it was spring loaded but thats what causes failure of the mechanism

I replace this type of item at least once a year most require enlargement of two of the holes to actually fit the base of the chair

I cant see that its any more heavy duty than what it replaced maybe even a bit thinner metal

I find it fascinating that almost all office chairs regardless of brand name are built on the same basic mechanism and pneumatic tube construction

I would guess that like so many other things these mechanisms and tubes are all cranked out by the same few maybe just 2 or 3 factories in china

It is literally only for chairs labeled heavy duty

The tilt mechanism is a bit too resistant for my personal taste i had to adjust it to its loosest setting in order to get how i like it
