It makes the item seem especially important, first b/c the child made it and second b/c there is somewhere special to put the item.

I'd also suggest, putting the project away if the child is getting frustrated (even if they say they want to keep working on it).

The only drawback is that finished product will not be able to withstand a huge amount to wear and tear, but that would be an issue with almost any children's kit.

The bad part is that the needle broke at the eye about half way through the project.

They're too small to make them on their on so i sewed them together.
