Pros & Cons
Pros
My father's dragon is written by ruth stiles gannett kahn. This is a book that was recommended to use as a read a loud to my 1st grader. The story and characters are delightful.
Read alone late gr 2 and up. Yea, great deal. The story is very imaginative and cute as well.
The kid is like macgyver with common house-hold items. And yes, the child gets spanked by mom early on. My 4 year old hung onto every word of this story.
Cons
The part that bugs me the most is that petra books has added the subtitle the bestselling children story (perhaps to evade copyright infringement? It is way too violent for this age group!
