    I had to actually pour water on the ground to soften it up to be able to get the stakes in the ground.

    My only frustration with these is that it's harder to actually secure guylines with the notches being straight rather than hooked, as noted by a fellow reviewer.

    They did come out a few times during a blizzard/rainstorm, but i think that was due to user error rather than equipment failure.

    Even railroad spikes bend with sufficient force, there is no stake that will stand up to unlimited pounding if it hits something hard enough.
