You've basically got two choices - a dedicated camera and monitor unit, or a wifi-enabled camera that you can view through you phone. If you're thinking of the former, this is probably one of the best units you can get, although you should be aware that the image quality is enough to show movement but from most mounting positions you'll not be able to see your little one breathing (but you will be able to hear them if the room is quiet and they're older). As others have said, the switch from a USB plug to a round pin is probably going to increase its longevity and I think it will suffer from the memory effect eventually so you often end up needing to have the unit plugged in all the time. Other features I like are the room temperature display, pan & tilt (though if your child is sensitive they might hear it moving), and a good range. Drawbacks are that unlike a wifi camera, a few sturdy walls will impede its range, it can beep noisily on both units if the connection is poor (not what you want with a sleeping baby), and it does have some features that are not that useful like the lullaby.  Read Less
