The bin itself is good but it's a shame that the one provided for review has a 'sticky' lid.

The quality of the bin is very good, we've had a cheap sensor bin for a long time with gave no problems at all, except the sensor was in the wrong place.

The quality of the bin is very good, the finish on the steel parts looks like it won't stain but i've not had it long enough to find this out.

The lid and the mechanism is also good quality except the one that i got would have gone back if i'd bought it because there is a bend in the lip of the lid that makes it stick closed if the lid goes fully down.

It's a pity that amazon's packaging wasn't as environmentally sensitive as it could be.

You have to wave your hand just above the bin and then the lid smoothly opens allowing you to deposit rubbish into it.

There is also a manual function if you decide you're not a fan of the sensor although i can't see myself switching over to it.

The bin runs on 6 x aa batteries which apparently last for 6 months if you open the bin an average amount of times per day.
