Highlights
Quality
That said i was pleasantly surprised and mostly happy with the way things progressed
As with the conclusion of three i look forward to more
The writing however along with the post apocalyptic world and weir are just as compelling
As with the first book the ending was surprising and completely justified
Packaging/appearance
Morningside fall picks up a year after the events of three and it plunges the reader straight into the action

Three left off with a really big cliffhanger and i cant even discuss that because a lot of what happens in morningside is because of those events

While the battles and action sequences are at least as well done as the first book those battles often seem pointless inserted merely because the author needed some action

Perhaps the curse of the trilogy is that the second book almost is by definition a book of transitions

The main characters continue to develop though in another book two convention the main character fails to realize the full potential that has been foreshadowed along the way

The politics of morningside are relatively simplistic so this is no dune but i could see this as being an editorial decision to focus on plot elements more germane to book three

Book number two of a three book post apocalyptic series
