This kit is by far better than the bs that best buy is trying to peddle for $50. Very sleek looking. Didn't take much to retrofit.

Mounts are plastic, but very sturdy. The matte plastic material blends easily with the color and texture of the speakers i've used them with. The bracket that you screw to the wall is metal and the tightening screw for the speakers itself or metal.

These are not monoprice speaker mounts. My kenwoods are just at that weight, and the mounts weren't even close to being up to securely holding them. Only use these for satellite speakers or extremely * bookshelf.
