The minix works flawlessly and is light years ahead of the competition. As with any android powered device so far so good. It get's the job done for t.
Kodi works well streaming from my nas box and it even plays 4k on my 1080p display at exquisite quality and full speed. Runs through a surround sound system that's hooked up to a speaker switch which feeds to speakers all over the house.

Cons
Picture gets flipped on the screen. A lot of other apps crashes a lot.
Minix defrauded me, wasted my time, and sold me a used device as new. Their contempt for their customers is extraordinary.

Competitiveness
This box performs much better than the matricom box plus it seems to be well supported by the kodi developers
Additionally the support community has been excellent and really second to none compared with say gbox community
Tried a matricom gbox quadocto core xmbc box and had buffering issues
The amlogic chipset is also better on the minix box and obviously they have better firmwarekodi support
