Pros

The moab 2 mid are comfortable, right out of the box. They're very lightweight and strong and durable. Wish they were a tad longer. Very impressed by the combination of comfort, breathability and water proofing.

Vibram sole is grippy and knobby enough for hiking with light to moderate loads. Merrell's are more roomy in the toe allowing toes to move more freely. The shoe is a bit big. Both shoes despite the different sizes fit well but the solomon's fit my foo... Read More

The gtx moab 2's have a gore-tex membrane sewn into the boot. Gore- tex imo is the true measure of waterproofness.

Wearing these boots became agony. They are too large. These are not comfortable. Which undoes any comfort that the boot might offer. Making these unusable for hiking.

I bought these to compare with a new pair of merrells moab 3 light hikers

After i had a pair a few years ago i switched back to this brand after wearing other boots for better price
