Works just as well, a little slimmer, much better looking, and feeling.
Price
To get a forged knife, with the same steel, same handle and same design for about 1/4 of the name brand's price is amazing.
Decided to upgrade its replacement, quality shows, and the price is a bargain.
Does need to be sharpened every now and then but it is a great knife, especially once you take the price into consideration!
Packaging/appearance
This knife is great after a good sharpening - half the blade was dull out of the box.
Competitiveness
I'd recommend getting one of mercer's 8-inch knife guards both for the peace of mind and to keep the edge.
But it's been proven to out perform my 10 inch wusthof classic.
A legit chef's knife, made from the same steel as the comparable wusthof model.
If your looking for a knife that out plays it’s competition, this is it.

I like a bigger handle even on a steak knife but i have some steak knives with similar sized handles and they're usable but for cutting/chopping/dicing, in the kitchen, the handles on this are just too small.
