Pros
The holes to put the string through are big enough for nimble fingers. Lots of lacing options in this kit. The strings are long enough to go through the wood pieces in multiple ways, like criss crossing.
It's durable, 3yo loves it. Sturdy, well made. Everything about this is great.
Cons
Lace-up toys from melissa & doug are not safe to play with. Laces are frayed and splintery. Toys smell of mildew.
The lacing holes are not smooth and poorly punched. The holes are poorly drilled.

What i didnt like is they dont have a carrying bag my granddaughter plays with them all of the time
