Pros & Cons

Pros

Great product and very sturdy. Worth saving the hassle. Memo to clean up your act.

Bought this to avoid digging and cementing a hole. A whole lot easier than breaking your back with a posthole digger. Used to install our replacement mailbox.

It comes with the bolts needed to secure the ground screw to the 4x4. Turning the rebar at chest level is a lot easier than hunching way down and turning it at ground level. Comes with a 2 foot piece of rebar that allows you to screw the screw into th...  Read More

Cons

Lag screw are cheap metric screws. It stops digging in well before the post assembly is at ground level.

This thing is the worst unless you have a 600lb friend who can put their whole body weight into it. Complete garbage.

The whole thing is dependant on the small diameter spiral to * that plug down. Instructions imply it may need some coaxing to slip the mailbox post over the lag screw. The only way a metal post will go over this is if the metal post is deformed.

Quality

Very easy to install and excellent stability

Sturdy and definitely worth saving the hassle

Hit a root on the first go which broke the bottom threads

Once it got to harder ground it took two people to turn it

Price

I bought the “used” option saving a few bucks

Was a little more costly than a bag of ready mix but the time and ability to move it in the future more than makes up for it

Shipping

First the box arrived beat up and without the promised lag screws or instructions

Competitiveness

I have seen many similar products but these are the best value for the money

I compared this to the type that you have to pound in with a sledgehammer and the screw design makes so much more sense
