Pros
The hhk has a pleasant “thwock” to it, but it’s not particularly noisy. The feedback and switches are tactile (as the name implies! They are much, much louder than any rubber dome keyboard you'll get with a typical new computer.
This is the third mechanical keyboard i've bought, and it's also my favorite. It is absolutely phenomenal. This keyboard feels great! Very pleased with it.
This design harkens back to the apple keyboard sold from roughly 2002-2007. The built in usb hub is also handy. completely detachable cable makes this keyboard excellent for travel.
A good keyboard is worth its wait in gold, and not something that one should skimp on. Worth the money, imo. It's worth every penny.
Matias' alps are throwbacks to the apple extended. These matias switches feel a bit more comfortable to actuate, leaving me less fatigued after an entire writing session.
Cons
The keys are too wobbly. They tend to move laterally a bit too much. The comma key either doesn't respond at all or inserts several commas when you touch it once.

Packaging/appearance
The packaging outer amazon and inner matias were excellent
You can tell this is an expensive mechanical keyboardworks perfectly with macs right out of the box
Reviews that found poor durability led me to keep the packaging
I decided on the oldschool mini tactile pro and love it
Competitiveness
A highquality mechanical keyboard can simply making typing fun in addition to the ergonomic benefits that many mechanicals also offer
I also looked into wasdcode topre corsair kinesis and a couple others
I tried it also on my macpro laptop and on another but it would not work on any of them
Matias also sells fullsize keyboards that are macspecific

I dont know where some of amazons products come from but when i pay full price for a new item i dont expect it to come in a torn box with the cables strewn around inside fingerprints on the keyboard and long dark hairs stuck to the bottom

Rest assured with the exception of the torn box itll be returned in better condition than i received it

After trying to clean out the keyboard as well as repositioning the key with advice from matias support the keyboard was decidedly defective

People have strong opinions on the diverse types of switches so do your research pay your money and make your choice

I grew up as a querty typist and over time of course though i never abandoned that way of typing found that keyboards had become sort of squishy to the touch with keys not quite spaced properly apart — factors that interfere with good typing
