The obd port in my car sticks directly out, which means a device plugged into it sticks out of the bottom of my dashboard.

Because of how the obd ii port is located on my car, the adapter protruded too much and was difficult to not hit it with my knees while driving.

Using the extender cable, i was able to connect the obd adapter inside the dash, avoiding the adapter to be seen and freeing the compromised legroom the adapter was taking.

For my purposes i wish the cable would have come out of the narrow side of the male connector, the female side doesn't matter.
