Pros

There is an arrow pointing to the machine that means press the envelope towards the machine. Keeps mail from piling up from having to do it by hand. Comes in handy for opening mail and you don't have to wonder where the small manual letter opener is a...  Read More



Cons

This mail opener is so lightweight that you have to hold it down. The cutter blade on this model is not very sharp and doesn't always cut the envelope when inserted in the machine.

I am a bit steamed because it was expensive and had a good name. Chose martin yale model 1622, worst one ever. Inquired about warranty service, found pursuing that route would be more costly and time-consuming than replacing the thing.

    It doesn't, however, open thicker envelopes but it is not designed for that but for typical home use.

    You have to position the envelopes correctly and of course don't over stuff it but it neatly slices the top off every time.
